Special Council meeting adjourned

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents and stakeholders that the special council meeting scheduled for today at 10h00 required to be adjourned.

The matter is the subject of a formal legal process and within this context, we humbly request media and all interested parties to allow the court and related processes to unfold. As we are aware, the "sub judice" rule is an extension of the common law rule that proper administration of justice may not be prejudiced or interfered with.

The Municipality humbly requests residents and stakeholders to allow space for these processes to unfold and conclude. Robust systems and processes are in place to monitor the efficient delivery of services to all residents and stakeholders, and as such, the court case will not interfere with service delivery.

The Municipality would also like to remind residents and stakeholders that the City continues to face one of the toughest droughts, which is affecting our everyday water usage severely. In order to push back dry taps, every resident is asked to use no more than 50 litres per day per person.

We continue to encourage our residents and stakeholders to report service delivery issues by dialling 0800 20 5050 to reach the service delivery call centre.

Issued by Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Communications Office.
