SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT (WATER AND SANITATION)

 

VACANCY

 INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE

 SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT

(WATER AND SANITATION - WATER DISTRIBUTION - OPERATIONS)

POSITION CODE: 190070

TASK Grade 12 (R384 408 – R534 444 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required: 

  • NTC III (N3) Artisanship.
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
  • Computer literacy – Office application.
  • Five years’ relevant experience, of which two should be in a supervisory capacity. 

Key attributes and competencies: 

  • Good organisational, problem-solving and supervisory skills (essential).
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
  • Physically fit and able-bodied.
  • Required to work after hours in emergency situations. 

Job purpose: 

  • Co-ordinating and controlling the operations associated with the Water Distribution Division through the implementation of procedures, applications, systems and controls.
  • Identifying the need for additional trunk and/or reticulation water mains.
  • Planning repair and maintenance services to existing trunk and reticulation water mains/reservoirs and performing specific administrative functions.
  • Establishing resource requirements, evaluating queries/complaints, solutions and outcomes, and monitoring and attending to deviations in productivity.  

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
