Cohesive civil society and municipal clean-up of offensive posters tomorrow

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Metro Police in collaboration with the Waste Management sub-directorate, together with various African communities and the Chinese community in Nelson Mandela Bay, will be cleaning up illegally erected posters in the city.

The offending posters claiming "Penis Enlargements” and "Safe and pain-free abortions” will be tackled tomorrow afternoon.

Metro Police Chief Yolande Faro said the initiative is called Simunye, as it will be bringing people together from different nationalities for the common cause of curbing this unsightly and recurring problem in our city.

"This clean-up operation will take place in Govan Mbeki Avenue between De Villiers Street and James Street from 3pm tomorrow (Friday, 18 October),” said Faro.

The briefing session where all participations will amalgamate takes place at the corner of Govan Mbeki Avenue and Albany Road at 14:30.
